Language Martyr’s Day and International Mother Language Day were observed at Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) with due dignity and solemnity. On the occasion of the day on Tuesday at 8 am in the university premises, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Father Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC along with Chief Guest, former Vice-Chancellor of National University Professor Durgadas Bhattacharya, all the teachers, staff and students lined up to lay wreaths at the Shaheed Minar of the University. Treasurer, Dean, Deputy Registrar, Proctor, and Heads of Departments were present too at that time. After this, the Vice Chancellor and Chief Guest hoisted the national flag at half-mast and hoisted the black flag.
After this discussion meeting was held on the occasion of Language Martyr’s Day and International Mother Language Day. Vice-Chancellor, Chief Guest and Dean Dr. Professor Alak Kumar Chakraborty delivered their speech in the discussion.
Patriotic songs, poetry recitations, plays and dances were performed with the participation of university students in the cultural program. Finally, awards were given for painting, patriotic song and poetry recitations competition organized on the occasion of the day.
