An inter-university basketball tournament, commemorating Fr Benjamin Costa, CSC, had been organised by Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB), titled ‘Fr Benjamin Costa, CSC Memorial Inter University Basketball Tournament 2018’ from March 23-26, says a press release.
Both private and public universities participated in the four-day long tournament. Teams from a total of eight universities took part. These are — BRAC University, University of Dhaka (DU), Jahangirnagar University (JU), Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB), North South University (NSU), Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) and East West University (EWU).
The final match of the tournament was fought with intense pressure by both teams, but ultimately NDUB won, defeating NSU by 20 points. The final score was – NDUB – 73 points and NSU – 53 points. All the participating teams were presented with crests and the winning trophy, marking the victory of the champions, was given to the victors.
