Business Journal of NDUB unveiled, seminar titled ‘Meet the Industry’ held

Department of Business Administration, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) organized a workshop on “Meet the industry” on June 11th, 2022, Saturday at NDUB Open Space keeping its Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof. Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC as chief guest. Professor Fr. Charlie Gordon, CSC also graced the event with his presence. Dean of Faculty Dr. Aloke Kumar Chokroborty was also present.

Among the special guests, Md. Sakib Chowdhury, Deputy Head of Research, UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, Jayed Ahmed, ACA, Financial Reporting Manager, Banglalink Digital Communication Limited, Mohammad Shafkat Hossain, First Assistant Vice President, People Management Division of Bank Asia, Surajit Saha, RTM & Capability Manager, Uniliver Bangladesh Limited, also spoke on that day.

The session was divided into two parts. One is ‘Journal inauguration’ and the other one is ‘Meet the industry’. The opening remark of that session was given by Dr. Parimal Chandra Datta Professor, Chairperson, and Coordinator, BBA & MBA Programs. Volunteers cordially welcomed the guests with the flower as a gesture of honor. After that Treasurer Fr Adam S. Pereira, CSC welcomed the guests with his kind words.

While addressing, Fr. Charlie said, “A good university is like an iceberg” which carried an inner meaning that suddenly aroused the audience.

VC Fr. Patrick talked about the research journal which was a very new edition.

Sharmishtha Roy Momo, Pratik Saha, Ummay Mahima Jannat and Sheikh Inzammamul Haque hosted the program.

During the seminar, Md. Sakib Chowdhury, Deputy Head of research, UCB Stock Brokerage Limited, briefed the students about stock market-related information and gave a lot of examples like budgets, and suggested looking into every year’s budget. He also discussed the recruitment process and assured students to come up with more internship programs soon.

Later, Jayed Ahmed, ACA, Financial Reporting Manager, Banglalink Digital Communication Limited started his discussion with an interesting term called “Dream” and discussed some of his field experiences.

Mohammad Shafkat Hossain, First Assistant Vice President, came to the podium and discussed career-related talks and CVs which is quite helpful for upcoming fresh graduates. Finally, Surajit Saha, RTM & Capability Manager, Uniliver Bangladesh Limited started his discussions in a very gripping way and all the students and faculty members interacted using a real-time voting site.

After the question-answer session, all the guests were honored with a token of love and appreciation.

Assistant Professor, Department of Business Administration Nazma Akhter gave a vote of thanks. Around 200 participants attended the Program. Students of the Department of Business Administration felt proud and grateful for the wonderful, full-house engagement of faculties, students, and volunteers who encouraged them throughout the workshop.
