NDUB to ensure beautiful educational environment based on OBE

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) will create a beautiful educational environment in line with the curriculum of Outcome Based Education (OBE).

Speakers in a workshop at NDUB open space titled Outcome Based Education in Practice opined this on Friday along with discussed modernization of curriculum.

While presiding the session, Professor Dr Father Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Vice-Chancellor (VC) of the university said, “We do student advising program here at Notre Dame University Bangladesh to navigate the students towards a better future. Our students will learn outcome based knowledge and implement the learning into their respective working fields.”

“We want to cultivate a beautiful environment of education here in the NDUB. We are working to modernize the learning curriculum of the university and it will be adjusted by January 2023,” the Holy Cross Father added.

While delivering speech as a keynote speaker, resource person Samin Rahman, faculty member of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Aviation and Aerospace University (BSMRAAU), said, “We have come from input based educational background, but we want to implement the output based.”

“Student is in-charge of such learning. In OBE you (teachers) have that freedom to teach beyond traditional system. We may face challenges to adopt the newest, however, we have to do best for our students as well as the country,” said Samin, also the Office Manager of Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) in BSMRAAU.

He shared the OBE model with all NDUB faculty members and a question-answer session was also held before concluding the session by Prof Dr Aloke Kumar Chakraborty.
