NDUB hosts workshop on accreditation process

A workshop titled “Accreditation Process and Procedure” was held at Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) on May 3. The session was attended by faculty from the CSE, BBA, ELL, and LLB programs.

Prof. Dr. S. M. Kabir, full-time member of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC), was the keynote speaker who outlined the importance of accreditation and detailed the process flow. He explained the conditions for receiving a BAC certificate, its validity, and provided a roadmap to help departments prepare.

Dr. Kabir emphasized the need for accurate documentation of the current status of accreditation criteria and standards. He introduced the Self-Assessment Report (SAR), which must follow BAC guidelines and demonstrate compliance with accreditation standards. Faculty were advised to self-evaluate their scores to ensure they meet the 70 percent threshold.

The speaker appreciated NDUB’s implementation of Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices. Faculty members Dilip Kumar Sarkar and Professor Golam Sarwar Chowdhury shared reflections on the session.

The event concluded with NDUB’s Vice Chancellor, Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, presenting gifts to BAC Director Prof. Nasir Uddin Ahammed and Dr. Kabir.
