


Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) organized an in-house training session on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) on August 12, 2025, aiming to enhance faculty members’ understanding and application of OBE, and to reaffirm the university’s commitment to adopting modern teaching methods and ensuring quality education for its students.
The session began with registration and proceeded through a series of engaging presentations. Aziza Akhter, Assistant Professor in the Department of Business Administration, spoke on the conceptual framework and rationale of OBE. She provided participants with a clear understanding of its foundations. This was followed by Mahmuda Yasmin Shaila, Assistant Professor in the Department of English, who explained how to prepare course outlines in line with Bloom’s Taxonomy.
Later, Saiful Islam, Professor and Chairman of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, demonstrated the development and use of Excel-based tools for mapping Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) with appropriate assessment strategies. The session concluded with Ishan Khan, from the IT Office, who highlighted the importance of electronic documentation in the teaching and learning process. The event was graced by the presence of several distinguished guests, including Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Dr. Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Dean of Faculty, Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC, Deputy Registrar, and Fr. Paschal Babu Sarker, CSC, Deputy Director of the Language Center, along with other respected faculty members.
