To strengthen the academic capabilities of higher secondary students, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) held an interactive workshop at St. Mary’s Girls High School and College on May 21.
The program, titled “Developing Youth Academic Skills,” focused on refining essay-writing techniques and fostering critical thinking. Hundreds of enthusiastic students engaged in the session, led by Yeassin Saha Nawaj Salim, an English lecturer from NDUB. He emphasized the importance of structured academic writing over rote memorization, introducing globally accepted methodologies.
The event also featured a documentary produced by NDUB’s Public Relations Office, showcasing the university’s dynamic campus culture. Emad Uddin Sordar, the Public Relations Officer, further highlighted NDUB’s academic excellence and student support systems through a detailed presentation.
Discussing NDUB’s commitment to holistic education, Dr. Fr. Subash Adam Pereira, CSC, Treasurer and Acting Proctor, urged students to cultivate creativity and analytical skills while exploring NDUB’s diverse opportunities.
Sr. Bina Christina Rozario, SMRA, Principal of St. Mary’s, thanked NDUB for the initiative and advised students to make well-informed decisions about their higher education. Participant Sompa Khatun described the workshop as highly beneficial, particularly for improving her writing skills. Meanwhile, Stuti Christina Purification, an NDUB student and alumna of St. Mary’s, shared how the university positively influenced her academic and personal development.
