NDUB Cultural Club shines at ULAB’s Kaleido Fest

To collaborate on academic and scientific research, laboratory support, and knowledge exchange, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) and icddr,b signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on April 24.

The agreement was formalized by Dr. Tahmeed Ahmed, Executive Director of icddr,b, and Prof. Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Vice Chancellor of NDUB.

Through this partnership, icddr,b and NDUB will jointly develop research proposals, apply for grants, and provide technical laboratory support. The collaboration will focus on a wide range of areas, including research on public health issues, laboratory research on pathogens and humans, bioinformatics analysis, and platform sharing. Both institutions will also engage in the exchange of knowledge, laboratory methods, and technology, while developing research workflows, specimen testing protocols, and sample site selection strategies. Additionally, the MoU outlines internship opportunities for undergraduate students, aligned with the policies of both organizations.

As part of the partnership launch, the NDUB team visited the icddr,b Genome Centre, which offers the most comprehensive molecular testing service of its kind in Bangladesh. The facility plays a crucial role in supporting cancer specialists by providing faster, more accurate, and locally accessible diagnostics to guide personalized treatment plans.
