Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) celebrated Teachers’ Day 2024 on Tuesday (October 29) afternoon, honoring educators with enthusiasm.
The event, entitled “Valuing teacher voices: Towards a new social contract for education,” brought faculty, staff, and students together at the NDUB Auditorium in a heartfelt celebration of the contributions of teachers.
The program commenced with offering flowers, cards, and badges to the teachers by Pro Vice-Chancellor Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, and Treasurer Dr. Fr. Subash Adam Pereira, CSC, accompanied by volunteers.
Fr. Charles, in his speech, highlighted the significance of the day and the vital role of teachers in shaping the future. In addition, Fr. Adam and Registrar Dr. Fr. Leonard Shankar Rozario, CSC, delivered motivational speeches, encouraging teachers to continue their impactful work.
Special speeches were also given by Dr. Md. Shahidul Kabir, Chairman of the Microbiology Department, and Suhana Tasneem from the Drama and Film Club, representing the teachers and students respectively.
A notable moment of the celebration was an audio-visual presentation showcasing messages from former students of the NDUB. The event concluded with vibrant performances by students, including a chorus song and a drama, followed by a vote of thanks from Deputy Registrar Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC.
The celebration left a lasting impression, strengthening the bond between teachers and students and reaffirming the importance of educators in the NDUB community.
