Groundbreaking ceremony of NDUB’s Permanent Building

A groundbreaking ceremony was held on 14 September 2023 at Motijheel, Dhaka, to mark the beginning of construction for a new permanent building. The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Assistant Provincial Fr. Anthony Sushanto Gomes, CSC, Vice Chancellor Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Pro Vice-Chancellor Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, Treasurer Dr. Fr. Subash Adam Pereira, CSC, Registrar Dr. Fr. Leonard Shankar Rozario, CSC, Former BOT Chairman Fr. James Clement Cruze, CSC, Fr. Frank Quinlivan, CSC, Fr. Tom McDermott, CSC, Dr. Benedict Alo D’Rozario, Eng. Md. Taslim Uddin Jomadder, Dean Dr. Aloke Kumar Chakraborty. The event was also participated by all the heads of the Departments, Administrative staff, faculty members, and students. 

The new building will serve as a hub for higher education which open a new door for the students and faculty member by providing the resources they need to grow and succeed. A lot of new features and facilities will be included within this new permanent building. And as it is in the heart of Motijheel, the building will bring a lot of opportunities for the university. 

The ceremony began with a prayer by Fr. Anthony Sushanto Gomes, CSC, and then the guests expressed their wishes regarding the new building. Honorable VC Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, said, “This new building is a testament to our commitment to fostering higher education and research in the education sector of Bangladesh. It will provide a platform for our students and faculty members to showcase their talent and creativity.” In the end, the guests participated in the groundbreaking.
