Global Holy Cross educators visit NDUB to strengthen academic ties

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) proudly welcomed a delegation of distinguished international educators and administrators from Holy Cross institutions around the world on May 21,

The visit marked a significant step in fostering global academic collaboration and cultural exchange, as the delegates were warmly received by NDUB’s top leadership and took part in a series of formal and interactive activities throughout the day.

The program began with a cordial meeting in the university’s boardroom, where Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Vice Chancellor of NDUB, officially greeted the guests and offered a comprehensive introduction to the university’s history, mission, and academic vision.

During the boardroom session, a documentary video was presented, showcasing NDUB’s academic achievements, facilities, and community initiatives. This was followed by an open discussion highlighting opportunities for future cooperation among Holy Cross educational institutions.

The delegation also toured key facilities on campus, including the NDUB Library and the state-of-the-art Microbiology laboratories, gaining firsthand insights into the university’s academic environment and student support systems.

The international delegation comprised notable members of the global Holy Cross educational community: Fr. Michel Eugene, CSC, from College Notre Dame du Perpétuel Secours, Cap Haitien, Haiti, Sr. Beatrice Driwaru, CSC, Chairperson of Moreau Nursery and Primary School, Uganda, Dr. Fr. Davis Konuran, CSC, from Holy Cross College, Agartala, India, Dr. Fr. Rodrigo Valenzuela, CSC, from Saint George’s College, Santiago, Chile, Bro. Benard Omukuyia Otwero, from Queen of Apostles Philosophy Centre, Jinja, Uganda, and Bro. Stephen Anandaraj, CSC, from Holy Cross International School, Salem, India.

Representing NDUB at the meeting were Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Fr. James Clement Cruze, CSC, Director of Development, Fr. Edmond Cruze, CSC, Director of Maintenance, Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC, Deputy Registrar, Sr. Shagorica Maria Gomes, CSC, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, along with other distinguished university officials.

As the visit concluded, Dr. Fr. Gaffney presented tokens of appreciation to the foreign delegates on behalf of NDUB, symbolizing friendship and a shared commitment to education inspired by the values of the Holy Cross tradition.
