Ishrat Tasneem started her career in 2023 as a lecturer in the Department of English at Notre Dame University, Bangladesh. Tasneem completed her M.A. from the Department of English and Modern Languages and received the prestigious Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medal for her outstanding academic performance at North South University. She graduated from East West University with a B.A. (Hons) in English (Literature), where she also received the Magna Cum Laude award. She completed her O and A levels as part of the Cambridge International Examinations. Besides, she has also received certificates from foreign institutions for participating in English proficiency tests. At NDUB, she participated in the “Outcome-Based Education Framework” training. She also took part in various extracurricular activities and received certificates for participation. Tasneem wants to use her expertise to make the students competent in critical thinking so that they can bring fresh and new perspectives to studying literature.
Tasneem’s areas of research and interest include literary theory and criticism, romantic poetry, Victorian poetry, modern poetry, post-colonial theory, 19th-century novels, American literature, and South Asian novels in English.
