Kamol Gomes is currently a Doctoral Researcher jointly at TU Dresden and UNU-FLORES, Germany, funded by the KAAD scholarship. He is one of the foremost pioneer faculty members in the Department of Business Administration at Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB). Before this incredible journey, he worked as a senior lecturer in Business Studies at Notre Dame College since 2004. He was awarded M. Phil from Chittagong University in Exploration of Conflict Management in 2014, which motivated him to encompass a momentous research project as a coordinator (NDUB part) jointly with TU Dresden and Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) for developing some Modules and Curricula for some specific Universities of Bangladesh under the umbrella of German-Bangladesh Higher Education for Sustainability in the Textile (HEST), funded by GIZ and DAAD, and monitored by UGC, MoE. Therefore, in 2017, 2018, and 2019 he synchronized some workshops in TU Dresden, NDUB, and AUST, interacting the cooperation with different stakeholders, experts, industrialists/owners, innovators, academicians, and researchers in Germany, UK, Italy, Thailand, Indonesia, and Bangladesh to disseminate the insightful knowledge and progress the Modules. Besides the professorship in the NDUB, he was engaged as a guest lecturer at AUST (undergraduate student in the textile department), BGMEA University of Fashion & Technology (BUFT), and Bangladesh Open University (for evening/executive MBA). He is always passionate about learning and sharing coherent knowledge participating actively in many other national and international conferences, training, seminars, and workshops.
Moreover, he devoted as the co-moderator of the Notre Dame Debating Club for ten years and employed that experience to establish the Notre Dame University Bangladesh Debating Club (NDUBDC) as a Founder Moderator. He has coordinated and organized notable workshops such as objective-based education (OBE), Bloom’s Taxonomy, etc., to enhance the teaching quality for the faculty members of NDUB, associated with distinguished Professors of ND Indiana. He is a proactive contributor, organizer, and moderator to achieve significant seminars/panel discussions, for example, ‘Challenges and practices to the behavior of compliant and non-compliant industries for research’ (facilitated by UNU-FLORES), engaging industrial experts and academicians from around the globe. He has published several scientific research papers in peer-reviewed journals and written some Textbooks at HSC level. During his doctoral research, he lectures on ‘International Water Issues’ for the Master’s program at TU Dresden, Germany. Even so, some online lecture sessions on ‘Sustainability in Textile’ for the undergraduate students of AUST have been carried out by him, which may contribute to achieving SDGs. Mr. Gomes was the founding member and was enthusiastic as the Convener (communication) of Concerted Effort to Develop Quality Education in Dhaka megacity since 2008. He was also engaged in social activities as the President of the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) for two terms (2007, 2008) and was the Vice-President of the Corruption Counteraction Committee (2012 -2017), Anti-corruption Bureau/Commission (Dudak), Dhaka.
