Bengali New Year 1430 was celebrated at Notre Dame University in a festive atmosphere

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) celebrated ‘Pahela Boishakh 1430’ on 14th April 2023 at the university campus. The celebration began with the hoisting of the National Flag and University Flag along with the National Anthem. The event’s guests Dr. Fr. Leonard Shankar Rozario, CSC, Registrar, Prof. Dr. Fr. Chales B. Gordon, Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC, Deputy Registrar, and Dr. Aloke Kumar Chokroborty, Dean were present at the event. Faculty members, staffs, and the students of NDUB also were present in this celebration.

The Registrar of NDUB welcomes everyone through his welcome speech and after that, the Dean along with the Deputy Registrar lights the Candle as a symbol of goodness for the upcoming year. Then a group of students presented the new year badges to everyone. Dr. Jamir Hossain, Associate Professor gave a special speech on the history and the significance of Bengali New Year in the Bengali Culture. He mentioned that the celebration has a long history and contribution to the Bengali tradition. Several cultural performances by students made the celebration more colorful. In the end, Deputy Registrar Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC thanked the organizing committee and the guest to make the celebration successful. Later, the guests and participants had photoshoots to make the day memorable. The event was successfully organized by the Student Affairs Office of NDUB.
