A Training held on Assessment under Outcome Based Education (OBE) Framework

These days, university education includes outcome-based education (OBE) to ensure quality and skill for the job market. OBE is a student-centered approach to teaching and learning in which goals are set for course delivery and evaluations. It concentrates on using both direct and indirect assessments to continuously track students’ performance.

On 1st March 2023, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) arranged the training on Assessment under Outcome Based Education (OBE) Framework. A total of 80 participants were present in this training.  The Keynote Speaker was Dr. Md. Ahsan Habib, Professor, Institute of Education and Research, University of Dhaka, and the Presider was Dr. Fr. Patrick D. Gaffney CSC, Vice-Chancellor, Notre Dame University Bangladesh.

Dr. Habib highlighted that the practice of OBE in universities will bring quality change among the students as well as ensure a skilled workforce in the nation. He also discussed different types of assessment practices for different purposes. Additionally, the faculty members and staff had a great discussion with Dr. Habib regarding different issues and aspects of the OBE curriculum at the university. In the end Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Dean give a vote of thanks to the keynote speaker and participants to make the training successful and he stated that NDUB will regularly arrange this kind of training for the development of the faculty members and staff.
