NDUB welcomes Dr. Father George Kamal Rozario, CSC as BoT Chairman

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) welcomed Dr. Father George Kamal Rozario, CSC on Tuesday, 11 January 2022 as its third Chairman of Board of Trustees (BoT).

Fr. Patrick D. Gaffney, CSC, Vice-Chancellor of NDUB introduced and welcomed him.

The colorful reception program was ended with the vote of thanks by Dr. Fr. Leonard Shankar Rozario, CSC.

Having been elected as the Provincial Superior of Holy Cross Priests of Bangladesh on the August 17th, Father George Kamal Rozario, CSC (Congregatio a Sancta Cruce), also takes over as the ex-officio Chairman of Board of Trustees in Notre Dame University Bangladesh.

Born in Tiria, Nagori under Gazipur district, Father George is from Nagori Parish and Dhaka diocese.

His early education was done in Bandura Little Flower Seminary during the period of 1979-1980. He also stayed in Ramna Seminary, Banani Seminary, Barisal Holy Cross Novitiate, and Rampura Seminary.

Father George studied in Nagori Primary School before attending Bandura Holy Cross High School where he completed his SSC in 1981. He passed his HSC in 1984 from Notre Dame College, Dhaka. He later completed Bachelor of Arts from the same college in 1986.

He was received into the Novitiate in February 1995. He received first Profession the following year and Final Profession in 1999. His date of Diaconate Ordination is February 11, 2000 and the Date of Ordination: February 25, 2000.

Back in 1996, he completed his M.A in English Literature from National University, and then got a similar degree from Dhaka University in 2008.

He achieved his Ph. D. in English while studying between 2013 and 2017 from the University of Santo Tomas Philippines.

He has completed the several assignments: from 2000 to 2001 in Pirgacha he worked as the Assistant Parish Priest.

Between 2001 and 2016, he served as a teacher at Notre Dame College, Dhaka.

From July 2017 to August 2021, he was the Principal of Notre Dame College, Mymensingh.

He has a translated anthology titled “Golpe Golpe Nitishiksha”.
