


Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) warmly welcomed its new students of the Fall Semester 2025 through a colorful and heartfelt Orientation Program held on July 20, 2025.
The event created a festive and inspiring atmosphere on campus, offering a glimpse into the university’s commitment to values, culture, and academic excellence.
The program began with the arrival of students and their guardians, who were greeted with flowers as a gesture of welcome. The National Anthem was performed during the flag-hoisting ceremony, led by Vice Chancellor Dr. Fr. Patrick D. Gaffney, CSC, along with Chief Guest Dr. Bro. Leo James Pereira, CSC, Principal of St. Joseph Higher Secondary School. After that Fr. Patrick gave an welcoming speech, addressing new students.
A documentary video, produced by NDUB’s Public Relations Office, was presented that highlighted NDUB’s vibrant campus life, academic environment, and student facilities.
The ceremony featured vibrant cultural performances by students, including traditional Garo and Oraon dances, as well as poetry recitations. Senior student Maria Ferdous Mita (CSE-20 batch) shared her experiences, while newcomer Victoria Tule Gomes expressed her feelings about joining NDUB, both speeches offering valuable insights and inspiration.
Fr. Swapan A. Das, CSC, Asst. Registrar (Academic) introduced the faculty members, followed by Sr. Shagorica Maria Gomes, CSC, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, introducing the university’s various offices. Fr. Binoy Sebastian Gomes, CSC, Deputy Proctor, explained the NDUB Code of Conduct, emphasizing discipline and integrity.
Dr. Father Subash Adam Perera, CSC, Treasurer of NDUB, briefly discussed various matters related to the university.
In his speech as the chief guest, Brother Leo urged students to develop their own philosophy. Addressing the students, he said, “You cannot become the best simply through the best teachers or the best administration. You will become the best through your own efforts. For that, you need your own philosophy, perspective, and values. What you want to learn, who you want to become, or what you want to do—these are matters of your own thinking and consciousness.”
The program concluded with a vote of thanks from Fr. Ashim Theotonius Gonsalves, CSC, Deputy Registrar. Among others, Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Fr. Amol A Rozario, CSC, Director of Finance & Accounts, Fr. Edmond Cruze, CSC, Director of Maintenance, Dominic Dilu Peris, Director of Human Resources, Fr. Badhon Hilarious Rozario, CSC, Deputy Exam Controller, Fr. Paschal Babu Sarker, CSC, Deputy Director of Language Center, Fr. Nitto Ekka, CSC, Assistant Registrar, were present on the occasion.
