


Aiming to enhance students’ communication skills, Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) Debating Club organized a workshop on public speaking and news presentation at the university auditorium on May 27.
Dr. Abdun Noor Tushar, prominent physician, media personality, and social activist, was the keynote speaker at the event, who captivated the audience with an engaging and motivational session. Drawing from his own life experiences, Dr. Tushar offered practical advice on voice modulation, body language, and the art of effective storytelling.
The program was graced by NDUB Vice Chancellor Dr. Fr. Patrick Daniel Gaffney, CSC, Pro- Vice Chancellor Dr. Fr. Charles B. Gordon, CSC, and Treasurer Dr. Fr. Subash Adam Pereira, CSC.
In his address, Fr. Patrick underscored the importance of freedom of speech in democratic societies, while Fr. Charles emphasized that strong communication skills are at the heart of effective leadership and public engagement. Fr. Adam reflected on the rich debating tradition rooted in Notre Dame College, which continues to inspire NDUB students.
The event featured a variety of interactive segments, including a barowari debate, instant speech, and a quiz competition. Students from various departments took part enthusiastically, displaying both confidence and clarity. The session concluded with the distribution of prizes and certificates to outstanding participants, recognizing their performance and dedication.
