Inter-Department Cricket Tournament kicks off at NDUB

Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) stepped onto the pitch in style as the Inter-Department Cricket Tournament 2026 began with fiery rivalries and true sporting spirit.

The cricketing battles rolled into full swing on Saturday (January 31, 2026) with the opening match between Law and Business Administration.

Earlier in the morning, the tournament was inaugurated by Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Chakraborty, Dean of the Faculty, who encouraged the players to uphold the spirit of the game, reminding them that cricket is a “gentleman’s game.”

Later, Sports Coordinator Dr. Md. Mustakimur Rahman addressed the gathering and inspired the players to compete with discipline, teamwork, and true sportsmanship. Sr. Shagorica Maria Gomes, CSC, Deputy Director of Student Affairs, along with other faculty members and officials, were also present on the field. After the lineup, the national anthem, and the oath-taking ceremony, the all-important toss signaled the start of action.

Following the inaugural game, CSE and English locked horns in a clash of brains and brawn. After the lunch break, Law returned to face CSE in another intense contest, while Business later took on English in a match full of pace, bounce, and competitive edge.

The league stage will continue on February 1, with Law testing their skills against English and Business facing off against CSE in another gripping encounter. Each team will fight hard for a place in the final, scheduled to be held on February 7.
